A pair of men wearing balaclavas allegedly stole a Jeep at gunpoint in Mission last Friday (April 4).
According to a news release from Mission RCMP, the vehicle was stolen after a pair of hikers returned to a parking lot in the Steelhead Falls area at around 5 p.m.
Police say one of the hikers went to the bathroom while the other returned to the Jeep.
"As he did, two males wearing balaclavas got out of a white pickup truck parked behind the Jeep, pointed a handgun at the owner of the Jeep, and demanded that he turn over his keys," Mission RCMP said.
One of the Jeep-jackers drove off in the stolen vehicle while the other left in the white pickup. No one was injured in the incident.
Per the release, Mission RCMP is continuing to investigate. Police say the stolen white Jeep is a 2024 model, and is stock in appearance, while the truck is described as a 4-door white pickup, slightly lifted, with no front plate.
