The couple died in 2010 when they collided with an out-of-control car on Lougheed Highway while they were on their way home from a Justin Bieber concert.

In court, the judge ruled that Hecimovic, who her defense argued was an 鈥渆xceptional offender鈥 will serve her 90 day sentence Tuesday evening to Thursday morning each week until the entire time is served.

Hecimovic鈥檚 lawyer, Dimitri Kontou, said the sentence will allow her to continue her job as a nurse, and 鈥渇unctioning within the community, while serving her sentence.鈥

鈥淪he鈥檚 a young person who鈥檚 had this over her head for the last six years,鈥 he said. 鈥淪he had a clean record before and has a clean record ever since.鈥

Outside the court, the victims鈥 families questioned how an intermittent sentence will act as a detterent to distracted and reckless driving.

鈥淪ix years is a long time 鈥 what鈥檚 she鈥檚 put everyone through,鈥 Johnny鈥檚 mom Audrey de Oliveira said. 鈥淎nd she only get鈥檚 a little bit here, a little bit there?鈥
