Homicide investigators are looking into a suspicious death after a man was found dead in South 91原创 early Wednesday morning.
On Feb. 10, just before 1:30 a.m., the 91原创 RCMP was called to the 1800-block of 224th Street after a report of man down was received. Once the police arrived, they found a dead adult.
鈥淏ased on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this does not appear to be a random act,鈥 said Cpl. Holly Largy, of the 91原创 RCMP.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.

The area surrounding the scene was expected to be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. As of Thursday morning, 224th Street was closed north from 16th Avenue, and south from around the 20000 block of 224th Street.
A tent was set up in the middle of the street, with the logo of a forensic investigative unit on it. The tent was being dismantled by around 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Currently, the RCMP is in gathering evidence and is unable to provide any further information at this time.
IHIT is seeking dashcam footage from anyone who was on 224th Street between 16th and 40th Avenues between 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 and 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10.
CrimeStoppers is renewing a campaign to urge more anonymous tips after the first month and a half of 2022 has seen a significant number of shootings, including here in 91原创.
There have been more than 20 gang-related shootings and at least four murders that were under investigation across the Lower Mainland, according to CrimeStoppers.
That includes the Walnut Grove daylight shooting of Julian Moya Cardenas, 18, in an attack that also injured a bystander.
The rate of gang-related and targeted shootings is double that seen last year, according to CrimeStoppers.
鈥淧olice can鈥檛 be everywhere and anyone who sees, or knows about, suspicious activity needs to report it right away, and we urge them to do that anonymously to CrimeStoppers for everyone鈥檚 safety,鈥 said Linda Annis, executive director of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers.
