A gasoline fire sent black smoke billowing over North Otter Saturday afternoon, Aug.31.

Fire crews were called to the 26200-block of 64B Avenue around 2:36 p.m.

91原创 assistant fire chief Kevin Snowdon said a crew from fire hall 3, in Aldergrove, was first in, and reported seeing "a large black plume of smoke just south of the freeway while they were responding."

They arrived to find a "fully involved wooden structure approximately 25 by 25 feet, not close to the main house."

A resident said a gasoline container in the shed caught fire, causing a rapidly-spreading blaze.

No one was hurt.

Snowdon said because it was an "unhydrated" rural area, tender trucks were required to shuttle water to the site.

Six fire trucks were called to the scene, and some remained at the location for up to four hours while crews made sure the fire was fully extinguished.
