A brief evacuation of the Aldergrove pool on Tuesday was the result of a faulty ammonia detection sensor, the Township of 91原创 said.
Patrons of the Aldergrove Community Centre (ACC), including skaters taking lessons and swimmers still in their swim suits with towels, were ordered out after an alarm went off around 6 p.m.
They were allowed back inside shortly afterwards.
"There was no ammonia leak at ACC," said an unsigned statement released by the Township in response to a Langey Advance Tines query.
"An ammonia leak detection sensor faulted, one of many sensors there, and it triggered an alarm. Out of an abundance of caution, an evacuation of the facility occurred for approximately 10 minutes until it was determined there was no leak and it was the faulty sensor."
The Township said sensor repair/replacement was underway "and the other sensors continue to operate ensuring the facility is safe for users. The facility is presently open and fully operational."
