Police caution people in area not to lend anyone their cellphone.

Can you hear me now?

91原创 RCMP are putting out a warning not to let people borrow your cellphone to 鈥渕ake a quick call鈥 after several reports of smartphone thefts.

There have been a couple of recent incidents of cellphone thefts at the Logan Avenue bus loop. Different suspects have gone up to someone and asked to borrow the person鈥檚 phone to make a quick call.

Once the person lends them the phone, they take off, said 91原创 RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks.

鈥淧rotect your cellphones. If you want to help a person out, give them a quarter, but don鈥檛 give them your $700 phone,鈥 said Marks.

If this has happened to you and you haven鈥檛 reported it to police, call 91原创 detachment at 604-532-3200.
