Boy, 17, accused of stabbing 2 women in Newton, North Delta

Neither victim sustained life-threatening injuries

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault causing bodily harm related to stabbings in Surrey and North Delta.

Surrey RCMP Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha said the boy, whose identity is shielded by the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is remanded in custody. The cases involve a woman being stabbed in the 12200-block of 84 Avenue on Jan. 16 and a woman being stabbed in the 8100-block of 120 Street on Jan. 23.

Neither victim sustained life-threatening injuries, Sangha said.

鈥淎s the accused is a young person and the investigation is before the courts, no further information will be shared.鈥
