A man arrested in connection with a June 22 incident in Ocean Park is due back in Surrey Provincial Court on Monday, July 16 for a bail hearing.

A man charged in connection with a June 22 incident in South Surrey's Ocean Park neighbourhood is due back in Surrey Provincial Court on Monday (July 16) for a bail hearing.

Police on July 6 responded to a report regarding the incident, which occurred in the 13600-block of 18 Avenue.

A female victim reported that she was chased by a man who threatened to harm her physically. No contact was made between the suspect and victim, a news release issued earlier this week notes.

Surrey RCMP said one person was arrested July 7 in connection with the report. Ricki Randall Taysup, 36, is charged with uttering threats. According to online court records, he remains in custody.

The arrest came on the heels of community concerns in Ocean Park after reported incidents of a man harassing girls and women in the neighbourhood.

Taysup appeared in court Friday morning (July 12), and also has an appearance scheduled for July 25.
