A truckload of fire

A semi-trailer loaded with plastic goods caught fire on Hwy. 1 Monday evening, sending flames and plumes of acrid smoke into the air. Two fire trucks and other emergency responders attended the scene at the east-bound off-ramp at 264 Street, and helped the trucker who had attempted to quell the flames with a portable fire extinguisher before they arrived.
