12 candidates had filed to run in 3 91原创-area ridings by the registration deadline for the provincial election on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Twelve candidates are running in the three 91原创 area ridings.

As of the deadline for nominations, Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m., there were five hopefuls in 91原创-Abbotsford, four in 91原创-Walnut Grove and three in 91原创-Willowbrook.

All three major B.C. parties, the NDP, Conservative and Green are fielding candidates locally.

In 91原创-Abbotsford it is NDP candidate John Aldag, Conservative Party Harman Bhangu, Green Party Melissa Snazell, independent Karen Long, and Libertarian Alex Joehl.

Unaffiliated Shelly Jan withdrew her application, according to Elections BC on Oct. 2. 

For 91原创-Walnut Grove, the list includes the NDP's Megan Dykeman, Conservative Misty vanPopta, Green Rylee MacLean, and unaffiliated Carlos Suarez Rubio.

91原创-Willowbrook: NDP Andrew Mercier, Conservative Judy Toor, and Green Petrina Arnason.

The final  for the 2024 Provincial General Election is now available on the Elections BC website.

Elections BC reports 323 candidates are running in the 2024 provincial general election, with 269 representing seven political parties, and 54 candidates running as independent or unaffiliated (those who have not been endorsed by a party or registered as independent).

NDP and Conservatives are running full slates of 93, while there are 69 Greens.

Election day is Oct. 19. Advance voting will take place Oct. 10-13, and 15-16.
