There will be two three-way mayoralty races in 91原创 City and Township, including a candidate who sued over the results of the last election.

By the Friday nomination deadline, 57 hopefuls had filed nomination papers for the Oct. 20 election.

In 91原创 Township, mayor Jack Froese is seeking re-election.

He has two challengers, Alex Joehl, who has run as a Libertarian in provincial and federal elections, and Anna Remenik, who described herself as a 91原创 School District employee in her nomination documents.

Her website states 鈥淵ou may know me as Anna R.鈥�

Back in 2014, Anna R. declined to give her last name when she spoke at a public hearing on a controversial Brookswood development plan, citing 鈥減ersonal security reasons.鈥�

In 91原创 City, former mayor Peter Fassbender, who left to win election as a provincial MLA and became a cabinet minister in the Christy Clark government, is seeking a comeback.

He is opposed by Councillor Val van den Broek, who has been endorsed by outgoing mayor Ted Schaffer, and Serena Oh.

Oh unsuccessfully sued the City to overturn the election results after she came last in the 2016 by-election to replace the late Dave Hall.

Nathan Pachal won the election, but his swearing-in had to be delayed because of the lawsuit.

Oh has also run for mayor of the Township.

There will be at least one new face on 91原创 Township council, with the departure of Charlie Fox, while 91原创 City will also see at least one new councillor as a result of Coun. van den Broek鈥檚 decision to run for mayor.

There are 23 Township council candidates: Petrina Arnason, Gail Chaddock-Costello, Michelle Connerty, David Davis, Bev Dornan, Steve Ferguson, Gary Hee, Phyllis Heppner, Jonathan Houweling, Kanwar 鈥淪unny鈥� Hundal, Margaret Kunst, Bob Long, Michael Pratt, Angie Quaale, Kim Richter, Kerri Ross, Terence Sheldon, Michelle Sparrow, Craig Teichrieb, Stacey Wakelin, Harold Whittell, Blair Whitmarsh and Eric Woodward.

91原创 City has 16 people competing for six council seats: Paul Albrecht, Dave Allison, Jack Arnold, Randy Caine, Corey Doherty, Jeff Jacobs,Teri James,Bruce Kilby,Gayle Martin, Andrew Mercier, Dana L. Miller, Nathan Pachal, Mike Solyom, David Stingl, Rudy Storteboom and Rosemary Wallace.

For School Trustee, there are seven people running for the five Township seats, and five running for the two City seats.

Township candidates: Megan Dykeman, Brent Larsen, Suzanne Perreault, Rod Ross, Cheryl Snowdon-Eddy, David Tod, and Marnie Wilson.

City candidates: Candy Ashdown, Marshall Austin, Shelley Coburn, Sindy Jeffrey, and Tony Ward
