Andrew Mercier, a lawyer and former B.C. NDP candidate, is running for 91原创 City Council.
In his written announcement released today, Mercier promised to fight a proposed mobility tax if elected.
鈥淭he average 91原创 family can鈥檛 afford to pay an extra $2,700 a year just to get to work and back,鈥 Mercier said.
鈥淔olks shouldn鈥檛 be punished for living in 91原创.鈥
He also highlighted housing costs and homelessness in his statement, saying 鈥渉ousing costs are off the charts and rents are not far behind.鈥
Mercier ran for the as the B.C. NDP candidate for 91原创 in 2013 and managed the federal NDP campaign in the 91原创 riding in 2011.
