The delicious scent of ginger is adding to the festive feel in Downtown 91原创, but it鈥檚 the accompanying sights that have everyone talking!
The Downtown 91原创 Business Association has added to its seasonal celebrations with a 鈥� a chance to take in unique creations crafted by local businesses and organizations.
Oh, and there鈥檚 the chance for a pretty sweet prize, too: $500 Downtown Dollars!
鈥淲e love Christmas here in . The Gingerbread Walk gives people something they can do with their family and friends that doesn鈥檛 necessarily involve spending money 鈥� it鈥檚 about spending time together,鈥� explains Teri James, DLBA executive director.
With 15 participating locations, Gingerbread stops range from Opus Art Supply to Lemon Bakery, the Douglas Recreation Centre to MLA Mary Polak鈥檚 constituency office.
Each business was invited to create what best represented their store, and 鈥淚 think people will be surprised by the creativity!鈥� James notes. (As a little extra treat for the bakers and decorators, the masterpiece with the most people鈥檚 choice votes also wins the maker $500 in Downtown Dollars.)

With your Gingerbread Walk Passport in hand 鈥� 鈥� simply visit each store to view their display and have your passport stamped or initialed. Vote for your favourite entry then submit your completed passport for a chance to win $500 Downtown Dollars.
鈥淚t really is that simple. As long as each spot on the passport has been initialed and they鈥檝e voted for their favourite masterpiece, they鈥檙e entered to win $500 in Downtown Dollars,鈥� James says. 鈥淭here鈥檚 no purchase necessary 鈥� it鈥檚 all about people having fun and spending this time together.鈥�

Those who do add a little shopping to their Downtown 91原创 visit can also enjoy the DLBA鈥檚 annual contest.
Running right through Dec. 24, the contest offers the chance to win one of three grand prizes worth $1,000 in Downtown Dollars. In addition, the will donate another $500 to the 91原创 charity of your choice.
Simply make a purchase (no minimum required), write your name and phone number on the back of your sales receipt, and pop it in the ballot box to enter the draw!
