If you鈥檙e a parent of a young child or children in 91原创, you鈥檝e no doubt felt the stress of trying to find child care in the area. Like many B.C. communities, 91原创 is stretched when it comes to spaces.

Tiffany Wang, Katy Lu, Betty Zhu and Summer Wang at the new in Willoughby Town Centre are helping address that demand, but they鈥檙e also looking to step up the level of daycare and early childhood education in the area.

When children鈥檚 interests are incorporated into their early learning experiences, Tiffany says, they are often more likely to stay keen as they move through their school years.

鈥淥ur professionally trained teachers observe what the children are interested in, then bring those elements into their daily activities. That way every child can participate in determining what they see and learn in school,鈥� Tiffany says, pointing to Tiny Hoppers鈥� . 鈥淲e really focus on that when introducing basic math or science, numeracy and literacy.鈥�

Community feel positive at Willoughby

From the moment Wang and her team visited the 6,600-square-foot 91原创 site that would become home to Canada鈥檚 26th Tiny Hoppers Early Learning location 鈥� there鈥檚 also 5,000 sq. ft. of play area outside 鈥� they felt it was an ideal place from which to service the many young families who need care, she says.

There鈥檚 five classrooms, an onsite kitchen to provide lunches and snacks, and dedicated spaces for infant, toddler and preschooler care, junior and senior kindergarten ages, plus before and after-school programs for kids up to age 12. Tiny Hoppers is set up to help with many different care needs for working parents.

鈥淎lthough we just opened three weeks ago, we already have a wait list for our infant, toddler and before and after school programs,鈥� Tiffany says. 鈥淲e鈥檙e also expecting wait lists for our JK and preschool programs as we grow over time.鈥�

As a special reward for coming down, families signing up their children on the day see the $150 application fee waived. For the kids, Elsa the Snow Queen and Spiderman will be there and available for photos; plus face painting and arts and crafts stations will be set up, while parents will enjoy the prize draws and giveaways.
