On May 27 91原创 Memorial Hospital Foundation will be known as the , marking a transformation to better reflect its evolving role in the community.

It鈥檚 the right time for this massive change in the brand鈥檚 direction, and perfectly in step with a growing population鈥檚 changing needs, according to Tracy Fortino, a director on the Board of the newly named Foundation.

鈥淎s 91原创 grows and health care services are even more complex, the hospital and service providers must be able to adapt to meet the evolving needs of 91原创鈥檚 residents,鈥� she adds. 鈥淭he Board felt it was important to look at how we were represented in the community.鈥�

Over nearly four decades, donor generosity has helped the 91原创 Memorial Hospital Foundation enhance the hospital鈥檚 facilities, upgrade health care technologies and make a meaningful difference in the lives of 91原创 residents.

Today, 91原创 is facing an aging generation and enjoying an influx of young families. Refining 鈥揳nd re-defining 鈥� the Foundation鈥檚 role in the community and its role as a fundraiser and advocate for patients in the hospital as well as the seniors and youth that require services in the community.

鈥淲e aspire to instil confidence and foster pride in 91原创 as a place where health care can be found on a continuum, whether it be in a hospital unit, in youth mental health services, in seniors鈥� care in their own homes, long-term care residences or community clinics,鈥� says Heather Scott, the Foundation鈥檚 Executive Director.

The hummingbird figures as the central image of the logo, crafted by brand and communication design consultant Irvin Cheung. It represents resilience, and a connection to the beauty of the natural world.

鈥淭he Foundation finds success only through the collective support from , , caregivers, sponsors and stakeholders,鈥� he says.

鈥淭he hummingbird itself connotes a sense of joy and connection to nature that appeals to all walks of life. The embedded symbol to form the y in 鈥�91原创鈥� becomes a visual illustration of the Foundation鈥檚 place within the community.鈥�
