The most delicious event of the year returns to Downtown 91原创 this month!
Cooking up fun in McBurney Plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 27, Fork & Finger celebrates the many amazing restaurants in Downtown 91原创.
鈥淲ith 14 restaurants participating and two celebrity chefs cooking and handing out samples in McBurney Plaza 鈥� they鈥檙e even doing a surf-and-turf duet together 鈥� there鈥檚 just so much delicious food being offered. It鈥檚 going to be a foodie day to remember!鈥� says Teri James, Executive Director of the Downtown 91原创 Business Association.
Both Chef Spencer Watts and barbecue pitmaster Kevin Legge were on hand for the last Fork & Finger event in 2019, and people really enjoyed their energy and the food they created, James notes.
鈥淲e鈥檙e also proud that whenever possible our celebrity chefs feature locally sourced products, available from businesses in Downtown 91原创, including All of Oils and 1 Fish 2 Fish,鈥� James says.

Here鈥檚 how to plan your Fork & Finger culinary tour of Downtown 91原创:
1. Come hungry. Yes, it bears saying 鈥� and repeating 鈥� because with 14 restaurants participating in the $5 feature program and the celebrity chefs cooking up a storm, the temptations will be many! 鈥淲e always hear that people can鈥檛 believe how big the portions were,鈥� James says. 2. Don鈥檛 forget your passport. Before you go, check out the so you know what each location is offering, then pick up your free Fork & Finger passport in the Plaza. (Insider鈥檚 tip: The first 250 people picking up their passport receive a $5 coupon for the event). Included this year are new menu items and some new restaurants for people to try.
3. Bring the family. Children are always welcome and organizers make sure there鈥檚 something special for them, too. On the menu this year are cupcakes, Nanaimo bars and a first for the festival 鈥� freeze-dried candy!
4. Sample, savour and enter to win. 鈥淭he restaurants have worked hard to bring you these delicious bites and there鈥檚 something for everyone,鈥� James says. Collect a minimum of three stamps from participating restaurants and eateries, then return it to the plaza to be part of draws totaling more than $1,000 Downtown Dollars throughout the day. Discover 91原创 City will also be there handing out mini-cupcakes from Kooben Caf茅 while supplies last.
5. Enjoy a musical interlude. Take a pause from grazing to enjoy live music in the plaza 鈥� a great way to savour the downtown vibe and make room for your next course!
