Summer is made for fun times with family and friends, and you’ll find no shortage of opportunities in 91Ô´´ City this month!
With a variety of free events for all ages hosted by the City and community partners, here’s 9 coming up in August:
- – Free Wednesday evening concerts showcase music by local performers at McBurney Plaza. Stop by from 7 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 28!
- – 91Ô´´ City staff hosts afternoons of sports, games and crafts, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout August. Join the fun from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays at , and Tuesdays and Thursdays at .
- – Relax to the sounds of music as the kids explore their creative side at the crafts station or challenge a friend to a giant outdoor game … it’s all at Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- – Dancing for Dessert is at Douglas Park from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Join the crew from the studio as they break out the dance moves in a variety of styles, or simply sit back and enjoy the music!
- Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring magic from Paul Romhany, Jason Verners and Travis Bernhardt, plus magical balloon twisting, cotton candy, activities and more.
- – Round out August with a community movie Friday, Aug. 30 at . Beginning at 8 p.m., A Dog’s Way Home, features Bella, who as a puppy meets Lucas, who gives her a good home. When the two become separated, Bella finds herself on an epic 400-mile journey to reunite with her beloved owner. A cash-only concession is available.
- – More than 200 visual and performing artists showcase their talents from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Saturday, Aug. 17, when the Downtown 91Ô´´ Business Association hosts this free, family event featuring music, artists and artisans sharing their work, live demonstrations, a children’s venue and more.
- #LCLive! – Stop by the City’s booth to enter their summer #LCLive! campaign for a chance to win a $25 gift card – awarded weekly though Sept. 1!
- – Gather with fellow foodies to celebrate and sample the amazing food from downtown 91Ô´´ unique restaurants in this popular annual event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 in Downtown 91Ô´´.
