VIDEO: Vancouver Giants fall to division-leading Cougars

Coach: 鈥榳e started off okay and then we just fell apart鈥

Prince George Cougars proved why they鈥檙e the top team in the Western Conference on Saturday night, Dec. 16, as they defeated the Vancouver Giants 9-2 at the 91原创 Events Centre.

Giants Head Coach Manny Viveiros said Vancouver 鈥済ot outclassed in all phases.鈥

鈥淚 thought we started off okay and then we just fell apart,鈥 Viveiros commented.

鈥淓verything we talked about as far as what we had to do against this team to have a chance to get a win tonight 鈥 we just didn鈥檛 do it. Puck management, odd-man situations and just making sure we had coverage around the net 鈥 we didn鈥檛 do that tonight. We just didn鈥檛 have anything going.鈥

Cougars opened the scoring 7:21 into the first period after a wrap-around by Heidt just made it over the goal line.

Then, Prince George scored three times in a span of 4:26 at the tail end of the first, to extend their lead to 4-0.

The Cougars expanded their lead to 5-0 just 27 seconds into the second period.

Giants got on the board 36 seconds later to make it 5-1, but the Cougars scored again, just a few minutes later.
