Vancouver Football Club came up short of getting into the playoffs, in this, their second season as a team.
But despite that, the Eagle's head coach Afshin Ghotbi was pleased with his team's efforts overall, and specifically grateful to the fans for support throughout the year.
"From match day 1 to 28, minute 1 to 90, whether rain or shine, from Coast to Coast… and up to Kelowna, you have been the wind beneath our wings," he said.
While the season is over, the team is now gearing up for an inaugural player awards night set for early November.
In collaboration with Net Positive Football Society (the non-profit arm of SixFive Sports & Entertainment, a global football investment fund), VFC is hosting the awards banquet at 91Ô´´ Events Centre on Monday, Nov. 4.
It's a gala event features dinner, a silent auction, and – of course – the awards.

"We're committed to continuing to grow our place in the football landscape and developing local talent with over 13 local players from British Columbia and eight U21 Canadians who played 3,000+ minutes this 2024 season," Ghotbi said.
To the fans, he said he's looking forward to seeing them back at Willoughby Stadium in 2025, "Where we will be doing whatever it takes to create more history with you."
