It all came down to the final, gold-medal match against Comox Valley Jets, a team the Aldergrove Dodgers had earlier defeated in the round robin of the 11U AA B.C. Minor Baseball provincial championships.

It was a hard-fought, back-and-forth game that ended with a close, 15-13 decision, but not the one the Dodgers would have preferred.

Dodgers returned home from the Aug. 6 in Surrey with silver medals.

It was a disappointment for the Dodgers, defending champions from the previous year, but coach George Tidball had a message for the team.

鈥淪econd place in the province, and their division, is nothing to be ashamed of,鈥� Tidball recalled.

鈥淲e鈥檙e proud of them. We obviously would much prefer to have won the championship game. But, you know, there鈥檚 a lot of kids who would have loved to just play [in] the championship game.鈥�

鈥淔rom my point of view, the kids had a great season, they put in a ton of work. Lots of hours at the ball park,鈥� Tidball told the 91原创 Advance Times.

鈥淭he kids all came together as a great team and just worked so hard throughout the season.鈥�

Tidball also issued a public thank you to recognize 鈥渁ll the hard work from all the coaches and parents throughout the season鈥� who contributed to their success.

Dodgers play in the a member of BC Minor Baseball based at Aldergrove Athletic Park that offers eight divisions of play, starting with blastball and progressing through tball, tadpole, mosquito, peewee, bantam, midget and junior men levels.

AMBA鈥檚 catchment area includes all of Aldergrove, East 91原创 and surrounding area all the way to the border and Mt. Lehman Road.
