Aldergrove Kodiaks were defeated in Saturday night's match against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack 8-1.

No goals were made by either team in the first period, though both made attempts.

The game's first goal was scored by Aldergrove's Taran Biring within the first two minutes of second period, with an assist from Jayan Biring and Dhavin Dhillon.

Thirty seconds later, North Vancouver's Harlan Jacobson tied the game with a goal, with assistance from Rayne Jameson and Ryan McAuley.

At 11:12, Jason Scott put the Wolf Pack in the lead with assist from Lucas Davidson, followed by a third goal two minutes later with assistance from Davidson and Andrew Casellato.

Goals were quickly being taken the rest of second period. Cohen Weiderick secured the lead with a fourth goal at 14:20 with an assist from Jack Jobst-Smith and Davidson.

Tanner Terness scored the Wolf Pack's fifth at 15:26 with Casellato and Davidson assisting again, followed by a sixth goal 20 seconds later by David Yoon assisted by Dayne Henry and Scott.

Second period wrapped up with a seventh goal for North Vancouver by Yoon assisted by Scott and Casellato with only 14 seconds remaining of the period.

Penalties were dealt to both teams for minor infractions such as tripping.

Kodiaks netminder Nick Mayne was kept a lot busier than Wolf Pack rival Sam Bastien being outshot 36-9 in the first two periods.

For third period, Aldergrove swapped Mayne out for netminder Matthew Crotenko, who joined Kodiaks six games ago when former goalie Sam Weinstein-Smith departed in mid-December.

Crotenko held his own for 14 shots on the goal, but North Vancouver's Yoon still scored with Casellato and Terness assisting.

Both Kodiaks netminders were busier than rival Bastien as the Wolf Pack outshot them 51-16.

The three stars of the game were North Vancouver's Scott (first), Yoon (second), and Davidson (third).

Kodiaks remain seventh in the seven-team Harold Brittain Conference of the Pacific Junior Hockey League, while the Wolf Pack is fourth of the eight-team Tom Shaw Conference.

Up next: Kodiaks play the Surrey Knights on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Aldergrove Community Centre. Puck drops at 7:15 p.m.
