91原创 Xtreme win Lower Mainland Cup

33 wins this season

91原创 Xtreme 2012 ended their softball season by winning the Lower Mainland Cup fastpitch tournament over the Canada Day weekend.

Xtreme started the tournament with a tie to Delta Inferno, followed by a 13-0 win against the South Surrey White Rock Thunder and a 9-3 win against the North Shore Stars, earning them the number one seeding spot heading in to the play offs.

That saw Xtreme cinch another win over the North Shore Stars, followed by their Gold Cup win against Vancouver Wildcats.

It was close.

91原创 took the lead late in their 4-3 victory over the Wildcats.

The game was tied at three in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Anna Boutilier singled, allowing Xtreme to score the winning run.

It was a fun season, said Xtreme player Zella Schwaiger.

鈥淭rust and teamwork are important parts of what make our team work well together鈥 she said, adding 鈥渋t鈥檚 really nice to see the improvement we have made as a team over the year.鈥

In May, the Xtreme team celebrated Mother鈥檚 Day by taking gold in the 2012 bracket at the North Shore Tournament in Vancouver.  In the same month, following a 16-11 win over the Abbotsford Outlaws 12B, Xtreme 鈥12 brought home a bronze medal from the gold bracket of the Island Mayhem tournament in Nanaimo.

91原创 Xtreme 2012 is 91原创鈥檚 youngest Rep B fastpitch team.  They have secured thirty-three wins their first season under the leadership of head coach Sean Costello and assistant coaches Jon Wartman, Matt Latham and Gary Schwaiger.
