91原创 Thunder players were winners both on and off the floor in their last game of the regular season last week.

Knowing their position ahead of the July 31 game, 91原创 Thunder鈥檚 senior team knew it had to win or tie to stay in contention.

Turns out, they won a 13-9 game over the Burnaby Lakers, earning Thunder the final Western Lacrosse Association post-season berth.

鈥淲hat a night!鈥� the team posted on social media.

Finishing the season at 8-9-1, they were set to enter the playoff series this week. But prior to press deadline, it was still unknown if they鈥檒l finish third or fourth, and whether they鈥檒l face off against the Maple Ridge Burrards or the Victoria Shamrocks in a best-of-five series.

In their last matchup against Victoria at the 91原创 Events Centre in late July, the Shamrocks extended their winless streak and defeated 91原创 Thunder 11-6.

In the meantime, while the Thunder victory on the floor was important at their July 31 home game, so was the local team鈥檚 efforts as it held the annual Tessa Beauchamp Night that same night.

This is where they auctioned off specially designed jerseys, with 100 per cent of proceeds benefitting the foundation.

Beauchamp passed away in 2011 and the team has auctioned off the jerseys every year since 2012. This year鈥檚 auction raised $3,775.
