91原创 swimmers bring home medals from Edmonton Open

Another big meet, another big medal haul for the 91原创 Olympians Swim Club.

Eight LOSC swimmers returned from the Edmonton Open with some serious hardware, winning 13 gold medals, five silver, and eight bronze.

Julia Strojnowska broke the 800 metre freestyle meet record with an astonishing 8:57.25, and Leila Fack set a new club record in the 100 metre freestyle with a blistering time of 56.69.

LOSC National Group swimmers Jihoon Bae, Leila Fack, Justin Jung, Ashley Ko, Macey Larson, Paul Orogo, Danny Park and Julia Strojnowska, and their coach, Brian Metcalfe were part of Swim BC鈥檚 20-person team at the long course Open, drawing top teams from across Western Canada to compete Feb 2-4 at the Kinsmen Sport Centre.

That wasn鈥檛 the only medal harvest by LOSC swimmers this month.

A team of 44 LOSC swimmers returned from Richmond and the Lower Mainland Regional Championships with 23 golds, 15 silvers and 18 bronzes.

In the process they set 122 personal bests and 33 new divisional time standards were met.
