91原创 Olympians swimmers compete in Calgary

The local swim club sent several teenagers and an adult club member to a recent meet.

The 91原创 Olympians Swim Club sent four swimmers to compete at the 2017 Speedo Western Canadian Open from April 20th to April 23rd in Calgary, Alberta.

The championship meet brought over 400 swimmers together to compete over the 4 day competition. The swimmers who represented LOSC were Bailey Herbert, 14, Josie Field, 15, Joshua Kim, 15, and Sevi Parr, 13.

In total the 91原创 Olympians won nine medals and broke six club records.

The club鈥檚 swimmers also scored a total of 473 points which placed them 10th for overall points scored out of 52 swim teams.

Leading the way was Bailey Herbert, who won six individual medals in the women鈥檚 13-15 year old category. Bailey won gold in the 200 Individual Medley (2:20.68), gold in the 400 Individual Medley (5:01.01), silver in the 100 fly (1:04.21), silver in the 200 fly (2:22.32), silver in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.74) and bronze in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.58).

Bailey also broke two club records in the Women鈥檚 13-14 year old 200 freestyle with a time of 2:10.66 and the Women鈥檚 200 Individual Medley (2:20.68).

Josie Field won gold in the Women鈥檚 200 fly (2:21.09) in the 13-15 year old category as well as bronze in the 400 freestyle (4:33.48).

Joshua Kim won bronze in the Men鈥檚 13-15 year old 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.63. Joshua also broke the 50 breaststroke (30.48) and 200 breaststroke (2:28.14) club records in the Men鈥檚 15-17 year old category as well as the Senior Open category.

LOSC鈥檚 Masters swimmer Serge Score, 56, competed at the 2017 Masters Swimming Association BC Provincial Championships in Kelowna, BC. Serge competed in three events and won gold in all of them. Serge raced in the Men鈥檚 55-59 year old category 50 breaststroke (34.09), 100 breaststroke (1:14.09) and the 200 breaststroke (2:39.85). Serge broke his current provincial record in the 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
