91原创 Rams three-game winning streak ended Saturday, Sept. 30 at McLeod Athletic Park with a 26-9 defeat by Valley Huskers.
Huskers earned the seasonal series sweep over the Rams led by their defence who pitched a shutout in the first three quarters of the game and forced five turnovers.
Rams were held to 206 yards offensively, with Huskers leading 10-0 by the half, and the visitors had 26 by the time 91原创 finally got on the scoreboard with nine points, in the fourth quarter, when quarterback Gideone Kremler connected with Terrel Jones for a touchdown, Sarthak Dosanjh added a single-point convert, and the team scored a safety 鈥 two points 鈥 for bringing the Huskers down in their end zone.
It wasn鈥檛 the way Rams president Dana Matheson wanted to close out their last home game of the season.
鈥淲e came out extremely flat with very little emotion,鈥 Matheson commented.
鈥淐hilliwack played a great game. They were physical on defense, and they ran the ball very well and picked us apart. We really struggled to put anything together.鈥
The team will need to regroup, and fast, Matheson said, before they head to Victoria to play the undefeated Westshore Rebels.
鈥淲e have the talent to get it done, we just essentially no-showed.鈥
Going into Saturday鈥檚 game, the Rams had won three straight lopsided games including a shutout, while Huskers were coming off a 34-12 win over Prince George in Chilliwack last week and had won four of their last five.
Rams will take on the Rebels Saturday, Oct. 7 in a possible playoff preview. Game starts at 4 p.m.
