Ridge Meadows Flames added another win to their season last night, Jan. 3, with the 8-1 win over the Aldergrove Kodiaks at the Cam Neely Arena.
The first goal was scored during a power play at six minutes for the Flames by Lukas Ravenstein with an assist from Zack Lagrange.
Seconds later, 6:12, Lagrange scored the second goal for Ridge Meadows with assistance from Jonah Power Smith.
Power Smith took the spotlight scoring the third goal for the Flames with assistance from Lagrange and Aiden Wildeman.
Taking to the ice with renewed energy in the second period, Aldergrove's rookie star Kyle McLaren nabbed his team's first and only goal of the night at 0:33 on his own. It marked his personal second PJHL goal.
Minutes later, Ridge Meadows' Pierce Whyte scored the Flames a fourth goal at 3:53, with assistance from Samuel Allen.
A fifth was scored near the end of second period by Jakob Loewen with assistance from Ravenstein.
During third period, the Flames scored a sixth goal at 6:48 by Lagrange again with assistance from Ravenstein and Loewen.
At 12:28, Flames' Morgan Clark scored a seventh goal with assist from Thea Kochan, soon followed by the eighth and final goal of the night by Joshua Bettesworth with assist from Jacob Roche two minutes later.
Penalties were nearly equal for both teams, ranging from minor slashing and roughing to misconduct.
Kodiaks netminder Nick Mayne was a lot busier than Flames rival Josh Vallee as the Flames outshot Kodiaks 63-11.
The three stars of the game Ridge Meadows Lagrange (first), Ravenstein (second), and Power Smith (third).
The Flames are second in the seven-team Harold Brittain Conference of the Pacific Junior Hockey League, while Kodiaks are seventh.
