Aldergrove Kodiaks release three players

鈥榃e鈥檙e not going to be content until we鈥檙e fully competitive鈥 GM says

Aldergrove Kodiaks are making some changes.

On Monday, Oct. 2, the team released three players; forwards Birbrinder Dhillon and Conner Nelles, with defenceman Cooper de Waal.

Rick Harkins, Kodiaks general manager, said after the first month of the new season, it was time to adjust the roster.

鈥淣ow we kind of see the holes that we need to fill, and slowly fill them up,鈥 Harkins commented.

鈥淚t鈥檚 just the nature of the beast this time of year. We鈥檙e not going to be content until we鈥檙e fully competitive.鈥

Replacements have yet to be announced, but he indicated they will likely be younger.

鈥淭wo of those guys were 20-year-olds,鈥 the maximum for junior A players, Harkins told the 91原创 Advance Times.

鈥淲e just want to go a little younger, and give the younger guys a shot, right?鈥 Harkins said.

鈥淲e鈥檙e just going to try and strengthen ourselves, a little bit at a time, here. You know, you don鈥檛 win the championship in the first month of the season. So it鈥檚 just a matter of us finding our niche and going from there.鈥
