A woman was screaming for help in Abbotsford on Sunday (Nov. 24) after fleeing a truck where an unknown driver made unwanted advances towards her.
According to an Abbotsford Police Department news release, the woman was waiting in the 31600 block of Peardonville Road and an unknown man offered to drive her home.
Police say the two were unrelated and the man began making unwanted advances towards her during the drive. The woman jumped out of the truck and fled on foot when the driver pulled his truck over near the Huntingdon Road and Columbia Street intersection.
Per the release, the woman made her way to a residence in the area and requested police assistance and officers arrived at approximately 3:15 a.m.
鈥淎lthough extremely shaken up, the [woman] was not physically injured,鈥 APD said.
Police describe the suspect as a man in his late 50s or early 60s with short, salt-and-pepper hair. He wore a blue and black plaid jacket at the time and drove a smaller grey or silver truck.
The APD鈥檚 major crime unit is investigating and is seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from those who may have been travelling in the area of the Huntingdon Road and Columbia Street intersection between 2:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m.
