Grade 12 students cleaned up in their efforts to raise funds for their upcoming dry grad celebration.
Walnut Grove Secondary (WGSS) grads washed cars by donation on Saturday, May 27 in the school parking lot.
Laila Vaissade, Grade 12 student, said the graduating class decided to fundraise so cost wouldn鈥檛 be a barrier to participation.
Vaissade said tickets for dry grad are about $90 per student, so the grads are hoping to lower the price they each pay to about $50.
鈥淒ry grad is important because it鈥檚 the last time that we all get to spend time together as our whole class, because we don鈥檛 spend a lot of time as a whole grad class together since it鈥檚 such a big crowd [of 450],鈥 she explained.
The neighbourhood was also invited by the dry grad committee to leave bags of recyclable bottles outside their front doors that morning for pick up.
For those who couldn鈥檛 attend the in person bottle drive or car wash, donations can still be made at any depot by giving the phone number 604-908-9597.
