Walnut Grove Community Centre's pool closes for a month-long annual maintenance period starting Sunday, Aug. 25.

The annual maintenance will close all the pool amenities, including the steam room, the sauna, and the hot tubs. It lasts until Sunday, Sept. 22.

91原创 Township's other pools, in Aldergrove and the W.C. Blair Pool in Murrayville, underwent their annual maintenance earlier in the year and will still be open.

For those hoping to sign up for swim lessons at any of the pools, the Township is reminding people to confirm their residential addresses so they can get priority sign up.

In May this year, the Township council voted to create priority access for swimming lessons for local residents, as the local pools have always drawn people from other nearby communities. Many towns in the Lower Mainland have priority access programs for their residents.

To ensure they are eligible for priority access, residents have to verify their residence. They can do that in person at a rec facility, using ID such as a driver's licence, property tax notice, or utility bill with their full name and address.

Locals can also confirm their residence online,.

Registration for non-locals for the next round of swimming lessons opens up on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at noon. Before that, only Township families can sign up.
