A water tank truck that was part of a construction project crashed with a train passing through along Glover Road early Saturday morning, Dec. 2.
The 91原创 Bypass and 216th Street are blocked in both directions at the Glover Road intersections. Traffic is also being redirected from going south bound on Glover Road.
Just after 3 a.m., 91原创 RCMP responded to a call that a train struck a truck, said S/Sgt. Kimberly Farlin.
She explained that it appeared a flagger told the truck to turn around, and they misjudged how close the train was.
鈥淭here are no signs of impairment,鈥 Farlin said. 鈥淎nd no injuries. The train conductor is fine, the driver of the truck is fine.鈥
Farlin said to expect the roads to be blocked for several hours as CP Rail works on how to open up those intersections.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is aware of the incident but are not sending an investigator at this time to the scene, said media relations coordinator Hugo Fontaine.
鈥淭here was no derailment, but the lead locomotive sustained significant damage as a result of the collision,鈥 he said.
