Peyton, 5, helped her mom, Chloe Hindes, at their first craft fair at her school-to-be come fall on Saturday, April 27.

It was the first spring craft fair hosted by the 91原创 Meadows Community Association, which raises funds for 91原创 Meadows Community School for its programs.

Chloe, a 33-year-old stay at home mom of three kids, taught herself crochet in recent months and thought she鈥檇 try out selling her sewn animals at the school鈥檚 first spring craft fair to support it.

鈥淚 went to this school, and [Peyton鈥檚] attending in September鈥� I just crochet almost the entire day. My kids love it,鈥� Chloe laughed.

Peyton said she has 鈥渓ots鈥� of crochet animals made by her mom, but her favourite is a big Minnie Mouse and unicorn. She helped her mom price the many animals displayed on her table at the craft fair.

More craft fairs are anticipated in their future, and Chloe hopes she can have a small business making and selling her crochet items.

The spring craft fair was in response to suggestions from shoppers the association received at their annual Christmas fundraiser, held in November, explained Jory Threinen, community programmer.

鈥淲e decided to do something different for spring. We have over 30 vendors with handmade items, everyone鈥檚 having a good time,鈥� she told the 91原创 Advance Times.

Some of the programs the funds support include the breakfast club program, nights of life program, and various seniors programs, Threinen said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a way for community members to connect with each other and it鈥檚 fun all around,鈥� she added.

The next craft fair at the school will be in late November.
