One person is dead and another is suffering from serious injuries after a multiple vehicle crash on Highway 1 that occurred late Friday night, Sept. 6.

A tow truck towing a box truck collided with a tractor trailer unit, which trapped both the driver and passenger of the tow truck.
Firefighters extracted the passenger, who was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The highway 1 was blocked east-bound, as well as the 264 Street on-ramp, but reopened later in the morning.
