Collision seriously damaged SUV, pickup

A crash on Fraser Highway tore the rear wheel off a pickup truck and slowed traffic during Tuesday morning鈥檚 commute.

The two-vehicle collision took place at 8 a.m. at the intersection of 44th Avenue and Fraser Highway, and involved a Mazda mx5 and a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

According to Cpl. Craig van Herk of the 91原创 RCMP, the pickup was on 44th Avenue trying to turn left to head east on Fraser, while the Mazda was heading west on Fraser.

The Mazda鈥檚 front end was smashed, and the pickup appeared to have been impacted on the driver鈥檚 side door and truck bed, and the left rear wheel had been ripped off in the crash.

Both vehicles carried a driver and a passenger, but none of the people involved reported any serious injuries, said van Herk.

The cars were undrivable and had to be towed.
