About 200 people came out for the second annual Groove & Grub fundraising event in Aldergrove on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Organizer Jodi Steeves suspected the wet start to the day a deterrent for the lower numbers compared to last year.
The 2nd annual Groove & Grub event is taking place now at the Plaza (272 St & Fraser Hwy) until 10pm.

As a result, only $972 was raised to be split between the Aldergrove Starfish Backpack program and Aldergrove Food Bank – not close to the target of between $2,000 and $3,000.
But, Steeves said the weather had cleared and the sun was out for the evening event, which featured live music, lawn games, locally made food and drinks.
"It was a fun community event that brought people together," she said.
Environment Canada had issued a rainfall warning in effect for Fraser Valley Central including Chilliwack, with precipitation expected to have totalled 50mm.
Residents were warned "heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts."
Steeves said the event will likely return again next year, hopefully with better weather.
