An early morning shooting incident resulted in police blocking off a section of 196th Street on Saturday, Nov. 25.
Around 4:40 a.m., 91原创 RCMP responded to a call of possible shots fired into the back of a residence on Wakefield Drive.
鈥淩esponding frontline officers met with residents, and after confirming no one was injured, did locate what appeared to be bullet holes in the exterior of the house,鈥 said Cpl. Craig van Herk of the 91原创 RCMP.
The stretch of 196th Street between 66th and 64th Avenues were blocked to traffic for nearly 12 hours as police investigated the area.
Evidence markers could be seen on the street near bullet casings and bullet holes in the fence. Reportedly, two shell casings were also found in a nearby occupied home.
鈥淲e are fortunate no one was injured,鈥 van Herk said.
