91原创 Township council moved several planned housing developments closer to construction with rezonings and development permit votes at the Monday, Oct. 21 meeting.
First up was a development permit for a 620-unit complex of four apartment buildings in the 7600 block of 198B Street, being developed by Zenterra.
The council unanimously approved the permit, which will allow six-storey buildings similar to other nearby projects. Earlier phases of the same Zenterra project have already received their development permits and are now moving through the building permit process.
Developing this five-acre site will result in the Township receiving a $14 million Community Amenity Contribution (CAC).
The council also gave its approval to the first and second readings of rezoning for a Qualico development on a 9.6 acre site in the 20500 block of 74B Avenue and 76 Avenue.
The development, if given final approval, will include 52 homes, with one townhouse, two single-family homes, 17 rowhouses, and 32 semi-detached lots.
Council also considered third reading for rezonings to allow Isle of Mann Property Group to build 315 townhouses between the 21000 and 21300 blocks of 72 Avenue.
That project was deferred for a future public hearing, at the request of Councillor Steve Ferguson. The hearing will be held at a future meeting.
If the project is approved and receives its development permit, it will contribute $7 million in CACs to the Township.
