Classical music artists are coming to the stage in 91ԭ, for a Mozart mania feature play called ‘Amadeus.’
Theatre in the Country’s production of ‘Amadeus’ opens today and runs until April 27 at its main theatre, featuring local talent both on and off stage.
Written by Peter Shaffer and first premiering back in 1979, the play explores the rivalry between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri in 18th century Vienna.
“It takes an amazing group of talented people to bring a show like this together,” said Reg Parks, artistic director for TIC who is playing the role of Salieri.
Local talent includes 91ԭ residents Amber Schneider as stage manager, Christy Gage on the ensemble, Mandy Knopp for hair and wig design, Val Bardot as costume designer, and Emese Dome as upholster.
Directed by Rachel Stephens, the cast will bring these iconic characters to life with their performances.
‘Amadeus’ will offer compelling story of the complexity of genius and nature of creativity.
Parks said the play is a beloved classic, and will captivate audiences with its blend of drama, music, and intrigue.
“Whether you’re a die-hard classical music aficionado or a newcomer to the world of theatre, ‘Amadeus’ promises an electrifying theatrical experience that will leave you breathless.”
The play runs at various times until April 27 at the main theatre located at 5708 Glover Rd.
