Aldergrove鈥檚 Twilight Drive-In theatre showed 鈥楽tar Wars: Episode 1 鈥� The Phantom Menace鈥� on the weekend of May the 4th, and the audience had a special treat before the show started.

Surrey resident Kyle Timmons, who owns his own light saber company, attended the first airing of the popular film in all his Jedi glory.

鈥淭his was my fourth time at the drive-in, but I had to come for Star Wars night,鈥� the superfan exclaimed.

Accompanied by his friend as a Sith lord, the two fans battled it out below the big screen before the film played.

鈥淎s soon as we got there, people came over to the truck to see everything,鈥� Timmons commented, explaining he had brought some of his company鈥檚 products to view or buy.

鈥淎s soon as we dressed up, people were taking pictures with us.鈥�

Staff at the theatre opened the concession so they could take photos of a Sith lord and Jedi ordering popcorn.

Timmons often cosplays as a Jedi and is a frequent guest speaker on the Star Wars Escape podcast, so he said he鈥檚 used to getting a lot of questions.

鈥淚 love cosplaying for any reason, plus people love it and it鈥檚 just so much fun,鈥� he said.

His founded his company, ALKY Solutions 鈥� the initials of his name and his girlfriend鈥檚 Alex Huynh 鈥� when he had a difficult time finding a lightsaber to purchase.

So, together they pursued a supplier and attended a Vancouver Fan Expo, and now operate their company full time.

鈥淭o date, I believe [about] 14 different actors and three major cosplayers have gotten sabers from us, including Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Trejo, Dave Foley,鈥� Timmons said.

While the Star Wars movie is no longer scheduled at the Twilight Drive-In, there are some popular new films coming to the screen including 鈥楩uriosa: A Mad Max Saga鈥� and 鈥楾he Garfield Movie鈥� starting May 24.
