The re-vamped Station Cafe in 91原创 City hall has a tall order.

It's been designed to become a community hub, not just a place to grab a sandwich or drink.

To mark the change to the cafe, the City is holding a grand opening Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. In addition to a ribbon cutting at the ceremony, there will be giveaways and interactive activities such as food mapping.

The caf茅 menu will focus on fresh, locally sourced food, but patrons may end up getting some food for thought.

鈥淭he Station Caf茅 is more than a place to grab an affordable meal 鈥� it鈥檚 a space for people to connect, share ideas, and get involved,鈥� said Mayor Nathan Pachal. 鈥淏y bringing the community together, the caf茅 complements other key initiatives this year, such as the Citizens鈥� Assembly and the 2025 Village Caf茅 Series, which give residents a real opportunity to shape 91原创 City鈥檚 future.鈥�

In January 2017, the 91原创 Senior Resource Society started operating the caf茅 as a way to bring in some income for the seniors centre but the caf茅 was closed during the COVID pandemic and is only now reopened. The Timms Community Centre was officially opened Feb. 24, 2016.
