Internationally renowned solo acoustic guitarist Trace Bundy is showing off his talent at Kwantlen Polytechnic University鈥檚 91原创 campus on Saturday, March 2.

Dubbed the 鈥楢coustic Ninja鈥� by fans, Bundy鈥檚 music is known to showcase harmonics, looping, multiple capos, and unique banter to give a memorable performance.

Bundy started playing guitar when he was 11 years old, picking up his first guitar from a garage sale.

His career in music took off when he reached his young adult years as a student at the University of Colorado, playing at local coffee shops.

鈥淰ideos of me playing started floating around on the internet,鈥� he said.

One such video went viral on YouTube and gained a couple million views, which sparked the spread of his music, Bundy explained.

鈥淔or most of my career, if I asked people how [they heard] about me, the answer is almost always, 鈥榊ouTube.鈥欌��

Now, Bundy has performed in 28 countries from big cities in Korea and Italy to remote villages in Zimbabwe and Guatemala, and has shared the stage with artists including Judy Collins and David Wilcox.

鈥淢usic has been such a gift, and I never hold onto it too tightly. I want to play the best music I can. I want to write the best music I鈥檓 capable of writing,鈥� he said.

His local performance will be in the auditorium on KPU鈥檚 91原创 campus, and will feature some of his original hits as well as popular songs in an acoustic style.

This concert also aims to raise awareness for the DuncanAfrica Society, a Lower Mainland-based charity whose mission is to alleviate poverty in Africa by creating exquisite guitars by hand in their Uganda trade school.
