More winter weather is on the way for the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver but temperatures hovering near zero will make it hard to predict which type will touch down, according to the Jan. 15 special weather statement from Environment Canada.

There could be snow, freezing rain or a mix starting with snow forecast to start overnight on Tuesday night.

It鈥檚 the heavy snow turning to freezing rain potential that could make travel and even outdoor activities hazardous.

The Jan. 15 weather notification was issued for the Fraser Valley, Lower Mainland, Vancouver and parts of Vancouver Island, to alert the public to the Pacific low-pressure system moving in from the west.

鈥淭he moisture from this system will interact with arctic air already in place over the south coast to bring snow to most areas.鈥�

Snow is expected overnight Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning.

鈥淭emperatures will hover near zero, making the type of precipitation uncertain at this time.鈥�

Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Greater Victoria, and the Malahat Highway could experience freezing rain mixed with the snow overnight Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
