A major power failure in Aldergrove and South 91Ô´´ was caused by a collision between a truck and low wires, according to the 91Ô´´ RCMP.
BC Hydro's outage records showed a series of overlapping power failures in Aldergrove and eastern 91Ô´´ on the morning of Thursday, July 11, starting just after 1 a.m. in most areas.
The power failures stretched as far south as Zero Avenue and as far north as 80 Avenue, and affected thousands of customers.
According to Cpl. Zynal Sharoom of the 91Ô´´ RCMP, the cause seems to have been a truck that struck low-hanging wires on 264 Street, between 16 and 8 Avenues.
That stretch of road had to be closed for some time, Sharoom said.
He added that there was nothing suspicious or criminal about the incident.
