The Ridge Meadows RCMP are grateful for the support from both their law enforcement family and the community following the regimental funeral service for a fallen colleague.

Thousands packed the 91原创 Events Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 4, for the regimental funeral service for Ridge Meadows Const. Rick O鈥橞rien with many more following a live feed from the centre online.

鈥淵esterday, we had the honour of attending the Regimental Funeral of our beloved Constable Rick O鈥橞rien, a true hero who made a difference at Ridge Meadows,鈥� wrote the detachment in an online post,鈥� thanking everyone who turned out to pay their respects.

The detachment asked the public to wear the colour red in lieu of gifts or flowers.

First responders from more than 50 agencies attended the service from across Canada and as far away as Oregon in the U.S.
