UPDATE: KPU's website confirms that the hold and secure officially ended at 4:16 p.m. 91原创 RCMP spokesperson Craig Van Herk said the 91原创 RCMP was not aware of a significant incident at KPU.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University announced a "hold and secure" order was in place on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 15 due to a security threat in the area.

A notification sent to students said that the campus would be going into the hold and secure state due to threat "outside or near the campus."

No other details of the nature of the threat were given.

Anyone on-campus was asked to return indoors and no go outside, to continue regular indoor activities, and to stay in the room until advised otherwise by university officials.

Those off campus or en route to campus were advised to stay away.
