RIMEX hosting annual car show fundraiser for blood cancer research

Registration open for car show taking place Sunday, Aug. 11

RIMEX, a wheel manufacturer with locations in the Lower Mainland including 91原创, is hosting it's seventh annual car show fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphona Society of Canada.

In 2017, the company's founder Chris Weston passed away from a rare blood cancer, shared Sarah Laing, sales support at the Gloucester location.

"To honour his memory and contribute to the fight against blood cancers, RIMEX actively supports the LLSC. As a company, we have raised over $80,000 through various fundraising events held annually," she said.

The car show will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Gloucester location at 5929 274 St.

Various types of vintage and collector cars and motorbikes are anticipated to be at the show.

A bouncy castle, food truck, face painting, 50/50 draw, and more will be on site to entertain spectators and show registrants.

"The event will be staffed by volunteers, mostly RIMEX employees, with 100 per cent of all non-gaming proceeds donated to the LLSC and their ongoing research efforts to find a cure for blood cancers. All gaming proceeds will be donated to the food bank," Laing said.

People can register their vehicles on site between 8 and 10 a.m., or by calling 604-888-0025.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
