One person has been charged and another was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an afternoon stabbing in Surrey Sunday.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday (March 16), Surrey RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) frontline officers responded to a report of a stabbing near a residence in the 6300-block Sundance Drive in Cloverdale, according to a Surrey Police Service release.
The victim was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police located the suspect in 91Ô´´, where he was taken into custody by the 91Ô´´ RCMP at approximately 2 p.m. without incident.
Tyler James Heiling, a 38-year-old male, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
• Aggravated assault
• Assault with a weapon,
• Break and enter,
• Mischief, and
• Failing to comply with an Undertaking
Heiling remains in custody until his next court appearance which is scheduled for March 21, the release noted.
