The Aldergrove Fair is celebrating its 112th fair from Friday to Sunday, July 19 to 21, and this year's theme is 'Country Roots and Cowboy Boots' at the Harry Hunt Field in Aldergrove Athletic Park.
Why are agricultural fairs important?
The development of rural areas through farming was crucial to the development of communities across the country. Agricultural fairs allow people of all ages to learn more about the past and future of agriculture in Canada.
I became involved with the Aldergrove Agricultural Association and Aldergrove Festival Society 鈥� now the Aldergrove Agricultural Fair and Festival Association 鈥� in the late 1990s as a volunteer.
Later, I was elected as secretary/treasurer, president, and executive director. In 2023, I was once again elected as the association's president.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with the fair and am excited to see this year's event unfold.
I am truly amazed at the caliber of board members, committee chairs, and volunteers! Everyone is working very hard to bring together the best fair yet!
The Aldergrove Fair is joined by a wide array of local organizations including arts, heritage, a wide range of children's activities, 4-H animals and dog agility demonstrations, and fair exhibits 鈥� like residents and youth entering their baking and handmade crafts for a chance to receive a blue ribbon 鈥� and so much more.
The organizer's of the Aldergrove Fair would love for you to don your cowboy hat and come on down to support the Aldergrove Fair, and make memories with your family, friends, and neighbours.
