More than 6,000 BC Hydro customers were without power in Aldergrove Friday morning, Sept. 20, since just before 9:30 a.m., due to a bird contacting wires which caused a transformer to blow.

Power was restored around 11:15 a.m.

According to the outage map, 3,080 were affected north of 16 Avenue, east of Fraser Highway, and south of 56 Avenue, west of Blueridge Drive.

In the east, 3,113 were impacted north of King Road, south of Highway 1, and east of 266b Street, west of Old Yale Road.

The 91原创 School District announced online that four schools were also in the dark: Aldergrove Community Secondary, Coghlan Fundamental Elementary, Parkside Elementary, and Shortreed Community Elementary.
